The botanical garden was set up to allow the area to serve as a conservation park for the purposes of research in botany. In addition to environmental conservation, the garden also serves as a biodiverse location, allowing the area to teem with different species of plants.

The natural environment here makes the garden a beautifully aesthetic place to just kick back and relax. Visitors are permitted to ride their scooters through the hilly park to view the various areas of the park. There is a skywalk where you can view Doi Mon Kwham Long and can get fabulous views of the rainforest below.

There are also some lovely glasshouses that you can enter which grow a range of diverse and interesting plants. The glass houses have been used for the preservation of different plant species, some of which are exotic to Thailand. The central glass house hosts an array of plant species obtained from the rainforest. So big is this glass house that it features an elevated path and even a spectacular waterfall.

You will also find a cafe on site where you can purchase food and drinks. There is a tram service/open air bus service that runs within the garden. Adults cost 30 THB while children (under 135 cm tall) pay 10 THB.

If coming with an Uber, tuk tuk or songthaew, make sure that you organise a trip back to Chiang Mai, as there isn’t often taxis waiting there. So it is best to self-drive or to organise a return trip with your driver.
