Khun Korn Waterfall

Khun Korn Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in northern-Thailand and is not to be missed if travelling around Chiang Rai.

The waterfalls are approximately 30kms west from Chiang Rai City and is best reached by car. There aren’t many tours that head out to this waterfall, so make plans to attend on your own.

Khun Korn Waterfall Walking Track & Getting there from Chiang Rai

There is ample parking space at the falls and from here, visitors can take a 30-minute walk through the forests to reach the falls. The hiking track is well defined, making it easy to follow. Once near the falls, expect to get a little wet as the spray will hit you if you are anywhere near the falls, as the flow is so strong.

Swimmers are permitted at the base of the falls and the water is waist-high, however, note that there are rocks at the base which makes for some uneven footing.

Typically, the waterfalls attract many more people over the weekend, so if you would like to enjoy some solitude, pop in at Khun Korn Waterfall during the week.

To get to the falls, head out of the city as though you are heading to Wat Rong Khun (the White Temple). You will then make a right turn and join Road 1208 and drive on until you come across the signpost bearing the name ‘Khun Korn’.
