Chiang Mai the, "Rose of the
North", is Thailand’s second largest city and it has been my
home for almost twenty years. In that time I have seen it grow
from the village of Chiang Mai into a thriving world class city
that provides all the benefits of urban life but has still
maintains its northern Thai Lanna cultural
heritage.
When the traffic, pollution, political tension and urban spiral
of Bangkok start to overwhelm you an escape to Chiang Mai is a
good antidote. Twenty minutes from the center of Bangkok and you
are in Bangkok. Twenty minutes from the center of Chiang Mai and
you are surrounded by the lush natural beauty of northern
Thailand.
Chiang Mai has remained relatively compact so it is easy to get
around with almost any place in the city not more than ten or
fifteen away from your starting point. It is a great city for
walking although if you are easily distracted there are many
small shops, Buddhists temples and other stops along the way that
will slow you down and extend the time it takes you to reach your
intended destination..
If shopping is your passion Chiang Mai’s reason for being has
been to serve as the central market for all of northern Thailand.
The Night Bazaar is a must see attraction with its many sidewalk
vendors displaying anything from “replica watches’ to true
handicrafts and art objects.
Dining in Chiang Mai is an international smorgasbord of choices.
The local food of Chiang Mai is regarded as the best in Thailand
so it should be high on the list of things to experience. If you
tire of the local food you can chose cuisine from an
international selection featuring English Pubs, Japanese, French,
Italian, Indian and German restaurants to name a few.
Welcome to Chiang Mai. Let me show you around this city that I
love.
Set in a lush green oasis in the heart
of bustling Chiang Mai the traditional Thai architecture of
The Yaang Come Village Hotel is a welcome change
from the cookie cutter modernity of most hotels.
The Yaang Come's preservation of its Thai heritage extends beyond
the architecture to its surrounding and its warm welcoming
service. The 42 guest rooms have been integrated into the natural
surroundings creating a relaxing atmosphere that more resembles a
quite village than a hotel.
Relax in
the beautiful outdoor pool, enjoy a traditional Thai massage or
just stroll around the area and enjoy the natural park like
setting. Whatever your choice you're ensured comfortable and
relaxing stay.
Behind the traditional Thai atmosphere are all the amenities 0f a
contemporary, world class hotel. The secluded oasis of
The Yaang Come Village Hotel is only two hundred
meters from the world famous shopping Mecca, the Chiang Mai Night
Bazaar so it is possible to have the best of all worlds, both
comfort and convenience if you chose this hotel for your stay in
Chiang Mai.
